The SSL3401HN is a Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) controller IC. The device works with a phase-cut dimmer with low-voltage 12V (AC or DC) electronics or an inductive transformer. The device is designed to drive LED devices and includes a dimmer turn-on phase detector.
The chip contains a hysteresis controller for power converters that is best suited for linear LED current sources. Two embedded proportional-integral (PI) controllers adjusted by dimmer turn-on phase and a 0.052% resolution PWM generator ensure excellent LED current from 100% to less than 5% dimming range stability. It also minimizes the power loss of the LED current source.
