Former partner of Osram re-launched the equity to develop 3D LED headlight technology

Valeo, the world's leading auto parts supplier, recently issued an official statement saying that the company has reached an agreement with Aledia of France and adopted a capital increase to acquire a 10.5% stake in the latter.


M. Martinell, president of Valeo's vision systems business unit, said that after the acquisition is completed, the company can integrate Aledia's 3D LED technology to strengthen its technology research and development capabilities in automotive lighting systems to meet consumer demand for headlights. In January last year, Valeo announced that it would acquire a 50% stake in Valeo Sylvania from OSRAM for $104 million, making Valeo Sylvania a wholly-owned subsidiary of its company, thereby consolidating the automotive lighting business.

In the first quarter of this year, Valeo's vision systems business unit sales reached 1.022 billion euros, up 17% year-on-year.
