iPad dominates the tablet market in the next two years

Although all types of manufacturers in the IT industry have flocked to the tablet market, the pioneering position of the Apple iPad in this field remains unshakable. Analysis agency iSuppli has released a report a few days ago, saying that the iPad will dominate the tablet market at least until 2012.

According to its estimation, iPad's shipment share in the tablet market this year will reach an absolute advantage of 74.1%, while the remaining 25.9% will be divided by the traditional "PC-like tablet" or "class iPad tablet" of all other manufacturers. Although tablet devices that imitate the iPad in terms of form and function will be released by the end of this year until the end of next year, it is expected that iPad's market share will still reach 70.4% in 2011. Even by 2012, the iPad will still account for nearly two-thirds of the world's tablet market with a 61.7% share, because it is difficult for other manufacturers to compete with Apple in the integrated tablet ecosystem and application software.

iSuppli's confidence in the iPad comes from the success of the iPhone a few years ago. The first iPhone, which was launched in June 2007, marks the beginning of a new stage in the global mobile phone market. Although several smartphones known as the “iPhone Killer” came out a few months later, it was not until almost three years later that there was a real product that could compete with the iPhone. iSuppli believes that this type of strength includes the Motorola Droid (landmark, released 29 months later than the iPhone) and the HTC Evo 4G (published 36 months later than the iPhone).

In the development of tablet computers, iSuppli believes that such history will be repeated. Although the current Android and Windows 7 platform tablet machine is very powerful, including large companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Lenovo are interested in joining the battlefield, but from the perspective of the overall solution, no one product can really threaten the status of the iPad. And even if these products are listed early next year at the end of this year, it will be difficult to catch up with the advantages of the Apple App Store in the expansion of application software, not to mention the second-generation iPad will soon be available.
