What surprises this year when the world’s first 4K resolution mobile phone was born

Tencent Digital (Compilation: Bear) wants to say that the most important electronic technology exhibition in the second half of this year is the IFA that was held in Berlin, Germany, early next month. The major tech giants have already begun gearing up to take advantage of this opportunity to release their latest products.

According to the convention, the protagonists of the IFA show are generally new television sets. However, since last year, smart wearable devices have also begun to appear at the show, including Samsung, Motorola and Huawei's manufacturers have launched their own new products. In addition, there are some new smart phones also appear in last year's show, such as Sony Xperia Z5 series phones and Huawei Mate S and G8.

In the end, what new products will appear on IFA this year. What are the highlights of the product? Let's take a look at everyone today.

Watch one: Ultra High Definition Blu-ray Player

In recent years, more and more TV manufacturers have launched their own new 4K TV sets, including Samsung, Panasonic, LG and Philips. In addition, at the CES show in January this year, Sony also introduced three new 4K HDR TVs. It is no exaggeration to say that 4K Blu-ray technology is likely to erupt this year.

In contrast, we may be more interested in the development trend of Ultra High Definition Blu-ray players. In fact, as early as last year's IFA show, Samsung has introduced the world's first ultra high-definition Blu-ray player, while Panasonic launched the DMP-UB900, Philips also introduced the BDP7501 two ultra-high-definition Blu-ray player.

In fact, compared to last year, the market for Ultra HD Blu-ray players this year is better. The reason is that the studios including Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros. have started their first round of 4K ultra-high-definition Blu-ray movies. In the second half of 2016 and 2017, there will be more high-capacity and expensive 4K Blu-ray discs, naturally requiring more 4K Blu-ray players to handle.

The lineup of ultra high-definition Blu-ray players on the market is Samsung, Panasonic, Sony and Philips. I believe that with the continuous influx of 4K Blu-ray resources, LG will not continue to sit still.

Aspect 2: Ultra HD Premium (4K) will become the industry standard

In its implementation phase, the development of Ultra HD Premium (4K) technology is still at a relatively elementary stage, similar to the earlier “HD Ready” (HD Ready) and “Full HD” (Full HD). And looking at the current market, all consumer products of Ultra HD Premium (4K) technology are mainly televisions. However, this situation is slowly improving.

Nowadays, UHD alliance has already established the "ultra-high definition" standard specially prepared for 4K technology, and this standard has already been recognized by many manufacturers. However, due to the delay of the standard introduction time compared to the product launch time, Samsung's UBD-K8500 Ultra High Definition Blu-ray Disc player has to be certified after two weeks of listing.

Aspect 3: Smart wearables are not as good as before

As mentioned earlier, at the IFA conference last year, due to the release of the Apple Watch, smart wearable devices could be said to have a lot of contention. Among the most notable are the Samsung Gear S2, Moto 360, Huawei Watch, ASUS ZenWatch and the local gold version of the LG Watch Urbane, and even the TomTom Spark fitness watch.

However, in the past year, Apple Watch's sales did not reach the expected goal, and consumers’ interest in smart wearable devices began to weaken. Therefore, at this year’s IFA, smart wearable devices may not be able to replicate last year. Hot scene.

However, we still have the opportunity to see some smart wearable devices, such as the Samsung Gear S3 and several new Fitbit products.

Aspect 4: Hot VR will be absent from IFA

Now, how hot the VR virtual reality device really is, I'm afraid I won't go into details here, but if you want to feast your eyes on the IFA next month, you are likely to be disappointed.

By convention, most of the virtual reality game content will be released at the Electronic Entertainment Fair (E3) in June, the Cologne Game Show in August, and the Tokyo Game Show in September. In addition, Sony also plans to host its own PlayStation Experience in December.

In other words, the virtual reality device has a more appropriate exhibition release than the IFA, so the absence of a hot VR device in the IFA should be a matter of fact.

Of course, Samsung and HTC as important exhibitors, even if their VR equipment will not appear in the IFA exhibition, but their other products will also be fully unveiled.

Aspect 5: Smart home fears will continue to go their own way

Smart homes are also an important direction for the current development of smart devices. Last year, Samsung released the “SmartThings Hub” at IFA, integrating home lighting, thermostats, and security monitoring systems into smart mobile devices.

I believe that in addition to most early adopters who love early adopters, for most ordinary consumers, the concept of smart homes may still be unreliable, but it does not mean that the development of smart homes will stagnate. In the future, some future solutions will also be available in full.

It can be said that the biggest problem in the current smart home field is the incompatibility between brands. For example, Google's thermostat is not compatible with Samsung's SmartThings Hub system. This will inevitably weaken the consumer's desire to buy, because after all, people do not like to be bound.

However, judging from the current situation, the possibility of focusing on smart home products at this year's IFA exhibition should not be too great. It must be said that the most likely case of this kind of situation is at CES next January. After all, Samsung launched its own "SmartThings Hub" at IFA last year, and the response was not as strong as expected.

However, Nest still let us see a glimmer of hope. A few days ago, Nest announced that it will open up network protocols to facilitate communication with other devices. In theory, doing so will make it easier for other smart home devices to connect to Nest's ecosystem.

Whether we can see the news about smart home devices at this year's IFA, let us wait and see.

Aspect VI: A large wave of smart phones strikes

If there is not a big wave of smart phones on IFA that year, it should be incomplete. According to tradition, the annual IFA is a big day for Samsung to launch new flat-panel mobile phones, of course, this year is no exception. It is reported that the new tablet device Galaxy Tab S3 will be released during this year's IFA exhibition.

In addition to Samsung, there is news that Sony has plans to launch a new smartphone during the IFA show. Last year, Sony introduced the Xperia Z5 at the IFA show, but Sony has now replaced the Xperia Z with the Xperia X. So what exactly is Sony's product to be launched is still somewhat mysterious.

It should be noted that the IFA exhibition is not a "smartphone exhibition" in the traditional sense (if you need to please move to the MWC Barcelona Mobile World Congress in February each year). However, according to the popularity of smart phones at the show last year, we should see more smartphones this year.

Other Aspects: Continuation of Last Year's "Crazy"

At last year’s IFA show, we saw “creatively open” fresh gadgets such as pizza, virtual reality gloves, and acoustic blankets made from 3D printing. I believe that this year will not be an exception. In addition to ultra-high definition televisions and a new wave of new smart phones, there should also be many electronic devices that make us feel whimsical, such as connected sports shoes, 2D printers made by 3D printers, and virtual Real dogs, etc., so stay tuned.
