Video conference technology introduction

First, the video is integrated into the network

Now video conferencing systems are gradually shifting from high-end dedicated markets to low-end and mid-end markets, and their applications extend to areas such as internal communications, external collaboration, business negotiation, remote training, and paperless office.

The early video conferencing system was mainly used in government and large-scale industry users. Now video conferencing systems are gradually shifting from high-end dedicated markets to low-end and mid-end markets. Their use far exceeds the scope of traditional executive meetings and office meetings, and the scope of application extends to Internal communication, external collaboration, business negotiation, remote training, paperless office and other fields. Especially after enterprises and government agencies recognize the role of video conferencing and value-added functions, video conferencing is gradually integrated into corporate networks and e-government networks. The demand for conference rooms and desktop conferences is strong.

Second, the network has different strategies

At present, the mature and dominant technology in the market is a video conferencing system based on the H.320 or H.323 standard. The H.320 system is a dedicated solution for circuit-switched networks, and the H.323 system is an open solution for packet-switched networks. The H.323-based IP video conferencing system is gradually recognized by enterprise users. Considering compatibility and interoperability, mainstream manufacturers' video products support H.320 and H.323 dual-mode operation to protect user investment. With the improvement of computer computing power and the increasing network bandwidth, software video conferencing systems based on MPEG4 video compression standards are becoming more and more mature, and are favored by small and medium-sized enterprises.

Video conferencing solutions are highly specialized, and users' needs, venue points, and network environment are all factors to consider. Video conferencing requires very high real-time performance. When selecting a video conferencing solution for an enterprise, it is important to pay attention to the network environment and deploy a corresponding video conferencing bearer network. For business users, the stability and high quality of video conferencing is critical. Due to network conditions, video conferencing systems were mainly used in private networks in the past few years. In the field of professional video conferencing, H.320 systems dominated. In recent years, with the improvement and development of broadband networks, the stability and reliability of IP networks have been continuously improved, and the application of H.323 video conferencing systems based on IP networks has developed rapidly. However, the QoS problem based on the IP network has not been fundamentally solved. Problems such as network jitter, packet disorder, and network congestion may cause the stability of the conference system to be low. When the problem is serious, the conference may not even proceed normally. At present, the mature conference room-level video conferencing system requires a bandwidth of 384K. In practical applications, it is generally necessary to deploy a dedicated line network and an IP private network. Users with low requirements may consider using the Internet.

Multinational corporations and enterprises with overseas branches need to build a multinational video conferencing system, usually a conference room-level conference system. Due to the long distance, the public network conditions that are spanned are complex. To ensure reliability, a dedicated network should be established.

Generally, a dedicated circuit based on circuit switching is used, and a video device based on the H.320 protocol is used. Only in this way can the stability, reliability, and image quality be ensured. It can be said that the video transmission network capable of guaranteeing quality on a global scale currently has only a dedicated network based on circuit switching. Usually, the international line uses ISDN, E1 line or satellite line. The domestic venue can be connected with DDN, frame relay, ATM, etc., and adopts star or tree network structure. The H.320 protocol supports such a circuit-switched network. The quality of video conferencing is easily guaranteed due to the advantages of connection-oriented, small transmission delay, and low bit error rate. This kind of scheme is high in price and belongs to a dedicated system. It is suitable for enterprises with small meeting points and large conference business volume.

Another solution is to combine a dedicated line network with an IP network and adopt a video conferencing system based on the H.320/H3.23 dual mode. International lines use ISDN or E1 dedicated lines, using H.320 video equipment; domestic part of the remote connection uses DDN, LAN part uses Ethernet, H.323 video equipment, deploys gateway between H.320 and H.323 equipment. Such a scheme is more flexible, and it is easy to expand the venue of the domestic part. It is suitable for multinational companies with a large number of domestic venues, fewer foreign venues, and a large amount of conference business.

Another solution is to use a satellite communication network. The satellite network has the performance advantages unmatched by the terrestrial network in the video conferences with medium and long distances. It has wide coverage, high transmission rate, good security and high cost performance. It is also flexible and convenient for the construction and relocation of the venue. It can be said that it is a good choice for multinational companies. China Satellite's "Satellite Broadband Video Conferencing System" supports the integrated transmission of multi-session video files and data.

The Optical Fiber Jumper wire is used to make the jumper wire from the equipment to the fiber wiring link. There is a thicker layer of protection, generally used between the optical terminal and the terminal box, and used in some fields such as optical fiber communication system, optical fiber access network, optical fiber data transmission and LAN.
