Huawei Wins "Best IoT Mobile Innovation Award" Issued by GSMA

【Global Science and Technology Report】 The 2017 World Mobile Conference was held in Shanghai. During the period, Huawei won the "Best IoT Mobile Innovation Award" by the GSMA (Global Mobile Communications Association) for its narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) solution. The award recognizes innovation and breakthroughs in the development of emerging technologies and industry standards for mobile networks. Huawei's narrow-band IoT solutions include the Internet of Things terminal chip, terminal operating system Lite OS, NB-IoT RAN and EPC, the Internet of Things cloud platform Ocean Connect, and the Open Lab that helps related companies develop IoT services and applications. This project uses the Internet of Things cloud platform Ocean Connect to manage 800 trillion Internet of Things sites, becoming the industry benchmark. In May, China Unicom released the world’s first national trial commercial project based on a 4.5G large-scale narrow-band Internet of Things. Huawei and Shanghai Unicom, together, helped to establish more than 2,600 sites in Shanghai and provided terminal, server, software and other ancillary products for this project. In June, Huawei and China Telecom jointly launched the world's first commercial project for narrow-band broadband intelligent streetlights and landed in Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province. Jiang Wangcheng, vice president of Huawei’s Internet of Things Solutions, said at the conference: “This award fully recognizes Huawei’s outstanding contributions in promoting IoT technology innovation, program innovation, ecological construction, and the entire mobile communications industry.” He also said: “ This year is the first year of commercial use of narrow-band Internet of Things. Asia, especially China, will lead the global development. Huawei will continue to provide the best product portfolio in terms of chips and cloud platforms to ensure the open architecture."
